Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Welcome to Kew East Primary School and thank you for your interest in our school.

Kew East Primary School is a thriving education community with a rich history dating back to 1892. We place a strong emphasis on providing a positive and differentiated learning experience for all students. At Kew East Primary School, we value a strong connection with our community and encourage close relationships with our students, parents, and carers throughout the education journey.

Kew East Primary School is a high-performing primary school and consistently achieves some of the highest academic results across Victoria. We value rich and varied exposures to learning, which celebrate and value student voice in their education. At Kew East Primary School, we have high expectations for all students and continually seek out value-adding experiences, which further enhance the learning experience.

Individual student goals are developed at each year level, Foundation to Year 6, providing students with the opportunity to identify multiple reading, writing, and maths goals each term, which are conferenced with their class teacher. Student goals are regularly monitored and discussed between the student and the teacher to ensure students are engaged at their exact point of learning need.

In addition, Kew East Primary School has a unique band program, which consists of interested students performing in a social band at Years 3 & 4 and a concert band at Years 5 & 6. Furthermore, students have exposure to Visual Arts, Music, Physical Education and Sport, and Italian programs each week.

Commencing from Foundation our goal is to provide engaging and stimulating learning opportunities while also developing confident, self-efficient and connected learners. Our teachers look to provide innovative teaching and learning opportunities by incorporating technologies and modern teaching strategies.

Additionally, we place a strong emphasis on developing socially, emotionally, and healthy students who think critically, solve real-world problems, and learn to develop positive and respectful relationships.

Yours sincerely,

"/
